and Lightning in a Bottle is our most favorite creation. And we simply cannot put the ART in LIB without YOU!
Our roots are renegade, and we'd never stand in the way of anyone's expression. If you want to hang a painting or show a sculpture, just set it up in a tree and be kind to the tree. Or build your own wall! Want to host a tea party or lead a parade or rally a flash mob? By all means - go big and make it so! The goal is total art immersion and catching Lightning in a Bottle!

Duckmandu is the stage name of Oakland performer, Aaron Seeman. A player with virtuosic technical skill, his repertoire includes, but is not limited to, 70’s rock, Broadway, klezmer, classical, country, Sousa marches and even a polka or two. However, Duckmandu’s specialty is alarmingly accurate accordion recreations of classic punk songs.
His 2005 release, “Fresh Duck for Rotting Accordionists” is a note-for-note re-make of the entire first Dead Kennedys album. Seeman also plays with the Romanian folk group Fishtank Ensemble <http://www.fishtankensemble.com>, composes for San Francisco’s “Punk Rock Orchestra” and has recorded with Mr. Bungle.

The Amazing Bubble Man, got started in 1980 when he discovered a toy called The Bubble Trumpet.
Selling this toy on the streets of Berkeley, he stumbled upon a slew of magnificent bubble tricks. 3 years later,
he met Wavy Gravy who encouraged him to get on stage and do bubble shows. 26 years later, Louis has evolved
this show into a wild ride through the art, magic, and sometimes even the science of Bubble-ology.

She
found an accordion on her way from Amsterdam to Berlin, passing by New York and Mexico. She sings
most of her songs in French: a punk-style gypsy celebration party where Nina Hagen, Edith Piaf and
Kurt Weill finally met each other.

Shamalacord
is Mike Penny on Tsugaru Shamisen and Aaron Seeman (Duckmandu) on Accordion. They formed an
essential element of the acclaimed Gypsy band, “Fishtank Ensemble.” Shamalamacord draws from a wide range of styles, including Balkan Gypsy music, Classical, Klezmer, 1920’s Jazz, traditional and popular Japanese Music, and original compositions.

It was a necessary year out there.. for me and for a lot of folks obviously.
The "default" world daily seems ever more the "FAIL"
world.
Perhaps that is the way that the story must unfold..
BUT in the face of that, there's nothing to keep us from busting our
asses
in joyful effort to craft viable and better alternatives.
So much incredible good work is being done by the PEOPLE. A lot was
demonstrated this year
@ BM but also throughout the year everywhere and in so many incredible
and humbling ways.
The "work" is now to reach the larger world with the transformative
and
creative light of our being & love - this inner light of a thousand
suns!

The peaceful silence of 30,000 people at the Temple Burn on Sunday was "religious,"
irrespective of what you believe or don't believe. In fact, it matters
not so much what
you believe, as how you behave. It's in how you treat yourself,

people that your truth is revealed.
