NIGHTLIGHT - MULTIMEDIA GARDEN PARTY - 4.27.12 One night only Night Light: Multimedia Garden Party 8:00-Midnight In addition to light and sound sculptures, projections, and ambient performances, Night Light features five experimental audio-visual performances by Mauricio Ancalmo, ENTOMO, Amar Chaudhary, David Molina and Surabhi Saraf from 8:30pm to 10pm. Ancalmo, whose performance broadcasts live in conjunction with the international Low Lives 4 Networked Performance Festival, offers an electronic music set incorporating the light and the amplified staccato rhythms of a dual film slide projector clicking to the next empty slide. 3. HOW WEIRD STREET FAIRE
- 5.13.12 HOW WEIRD 2012 Sunday May 13th from Noon to 8pm Howard and 2nd Streets, Downtown San Francisco http://www.HowWeird.org The 13th annual How Weird Street Faire is on May 13th, and will have 13 stages of music and performances spread throughout 13 city blocks. This year features dance music stages by Symbiosis, Raindance, Sunset Music, Forward SF, Opel, Opulent Temple, Muti Music, Temple Nightclub, Groove Garden, Enchanted Forest, SWAG, Happy Camp, Red Marines, Pulse, Pink Mammoth, SF House, Nu Funk Boutique, and more. Plus vendors from around the world, a performance stage hosted by members of Vau de Vire Society, an entire alley of live and exhibited art, food and drinks, and thousands of people in colorful costumes coming together to celebrate our peace and creativity. All ages welcome. Costumes are highly encouraged. How Weird is centered at Howard and 2nd Streets, in the heart of San Francisco's SoMa district. The faire takes place on Howard Street between New Montgomery and 1st Street, and on 2nd Street between Mission and Folsom. Buses, trains, MUNI, and BART all come within a short walk to the faire. Plus there is free bike parking at New Montgomery and Howard, at the Main Entrance. A $10 donation is requested, which gets a Magic Sticker! The Magic Sticker comes with discounts and specials worth many times its cost. See the website or Info Booth at the faire for details. This year’s faire occurs on Mothers Day, which has its origins as a peace event. So in honor of Mothers Day, moms of all ages get a free Magic Sticker when arriving with their kids. At night, the faire moves indoors to three beautiful venues at the faire site: Temple Nightclub, 111 Minna Gallery, and Harlot. How Weird @ Night is only $10 each at all three venues.
