1. AN UPDATE ON SEA OF DREAMS NYE
From Joegh Bullock of anonEvents:
Many of you have been asking, "What's up with SEA OF DREAMS?" so we thought we ought to clarify things. After much contemplation, everyone involved mutually decided there will be NO SEA this NYE. This was a very bittersweet choice to make as this would have been its 16th year … and so has become a large part of our identity.
For over a decade it was the only NYE game in town, and it was my divine pleasure to spearhead that celebratory spectacle for our SF/Bay community. A wild, yet safe space for our audience; a showcase for ground-breaking local talent; a fantasy playland come to life. But the game, and the scene, has changed enormously, and so have we.
It was an incredible opportunity to be asked to bring SOD to the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. At the same time, it became bigger, more costly and less representative of my original vision. It also became increasingly difficult to justify the disparity of paying our local artists & loyal crews smaller sums while the unions, celebrity DJs, and the expanded budgets ate the lion's share. This did not sit right with me. As our fall production season approached, it seemed the tide had shifted. We weren't interested in doing things the same way again and our partners were ready to try something new, so the writing was on the wall. We of course wish them the best of luck on their show, The Big One!
And in case, you might want to review Sea of Dreams past, this link @ http://www.seaofdreamsnye.com/line-up/past-artists
… will give you a sense of some of the many artists and groups who helped make the last 15 years of shows beyond memorable. Thank you to all of you who lent your prodigious talents or your sparkling presence to the festivities. The stardust from those nights is not yet done swirling.
In the meantime, we are moving our home base to the North Bay! The universe conspired to help Carly and I acquire a beautiful retreat property and we've fallen madly in love with the change of pace and scenery. Rest assured, we're still emersed in SF arts/music/culture events, having recently wrapped up our most successful year-to-date co-producing & decorating: 3 legendary street fairs (BM Decom, How Weird, Superhero), several Fortune 500 corporate events, a celebrity wedding, Wisdom 2.0 conference, shows for SF City Hall Centennial & Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Fest, Masquerotica, and so far, 2016 shows no sign of slowing down!
After 30 years in the business, I'm excited to branch out into unchartered territory and take on new challenges. We're still committed to bringing our personal brand of magic and creativity to city events, while we explore what this sacred place represents for the next chapter of our art, love, & legacy.
Let it be known, we've been exploring options to bring Sea of Dreams NYE to Santa Rosa, CA next year and we love the idea of returning to our burner-artist-fringe roots! So stay tuned for that, but in the meantime, we wish you a kick-ass holiday party season, peppered with powerful moments of connection and reflection, and a Happy New Year 2016 doing whatever, wherever and with whomever you choose! Follow your bliss and keep it real, ok? Don't allow SF to get all vanilla and hollow. YOU ALL make it glitter and we love you for weaving your bling into our colorful life!
Much love,
Joegh + Carly / anonEvents

"From LA to Vancouver, the wandering burlesque dance party known as TRAPEZE has been scorching stages and seducing dance floors with an immersive kaleidoscope of haunting melodies and seismic beats. Driven by San Francisco DJ/Producer duo Delachaux and The Klown, Trapeze has been christened as the official lightning rod of the west coast underground's burgeoning electro-swing cult and features a parade of DJs, bands and performers with a cheeky, bass heavy taste for vintage, old world wonder that's been spliced, diced and hotwired on tomorrow's sonic dope. Recently heralded by the SF Examiner, LA Weekly and Insomniac Magazine as one of underground dance music's most innovative directions, Trapeze continues to ambush swelling audiences with some of the most uniquely refreshing sights and sounds in contemporary EDM." - Beatport

Friday, January 22nd ~ The Edwardian World's Faire
Our two-night celebration unfolds with the renowned World's Faire. Pack your bags and prepare for a turn-of-the-century inspired excursion to faraway lands. Historic and novel characters intermingle; true-life adventures blend with fantastical lands; live the excitement of the age of exploration, reimagined through the lens of today and beyond. Get lost in our delightful Gaming Garden, where characters, tricks, and games of chance weave a backdrop to steam-powered creations and chance encounters. Revel in a modern day Belle Époque where cultures meet, blend, dance, and collide. A worldly adventure ahead of Saturday night's Ball, our World's Faire presents a once-in-this-lifetime adventure!
Saturday, January 23rd ~ The 16th Annual Edwardian Ball
Following our worldly revelry, we return to the Ballroom for the most decadent night of our season, presented by co-hosts Rosin Coven and The Vau de Vire Society. Ballroom dancing leads way to stunning performances both on and offstage in a collage of fashion, theatre, music, circus performance, and dance. Each year, The Edwardian Ball presents a featured Edward Gorey tale in an original stage performance. This year's event takes a unique turn, with Edwardian founders Rosin Coven teaming up with longtime collaborators Dark Garden Corsetry in an operatic presentation of Gorey's ridiculous tale, "The Stupid Joke." Expect anything but stupidity as these masters of their craft collaborate in an unforgettable tale of a poorly planned joke gone incredibly wrong… And in the spirit of celebrating all things Edward Gorey, Vau de Vire Society presents a series of vignettes throughout the evening paying homage to the most controversial works of the (in)famous illustrator...guaranteed to pop corsets and ruffle coat-tails!
Saturday, February 27th ~ The 7th Annual Edwardian Ball Los Angeles

The finest features and treasures of our San Francisco weekend are packed in our carriages and strewn forth in elegant excitement for a one-night-only celebration, blending with our LA Edwardian friends and family and all the wonders they bring to the table. live music, theatre, fashion and cosplay, circus, fine art, riveting stage shows, black comedy, science fiction, literature, ballroom dancing, and DJs blend in a whirlwind extravaganza. Imagine a romanticized, gilded and gentile Neo-Victorian and Edwardian-era conjuring an elegant, alternate-reality future. Delightful attractions include a free portrait booth, rooftop vending and dancefloor, mystical and nonsensical oddities, absinthe cocktails, parlour games, alluring sideshows, tarot, and much more.
