The 14th Annual Edwardian Ball and World's Faire is coming right up this Friday, January 17th & Saturday, January 18th. This is among the most unique events San Francisco has ever raised, and that an ever-expanding creative and participatory community has helped sustain.
Once again, returning to its long-time home at the beautiful SF Regency Center, it is an always elegant and whimsical extravaganza of costumery, carnival, music, acrobatics, ballroom dancing, theater, circus, games, steam machinery, aerial performances, obscure artifacts, period technology and elaborate fashion shows, all in the name of honoring author/illustrator Edward Gorey.
This year, EB founders Rosin Coven and Vau de Vire Society perform Gorey's "The Curious Sofa" described as "the ultimate in pornographic joy, combining naughtiness to the limit of the imagination and laughter to the point of breathlessness."
