A Poetic Vision of Earth from Space
              Thursday, April 12, 2012
BELLA GAIA (Beautiful Earth) is a 'Living Atlas' journey of our world,
expressing the deeply moving beauty of planet Earth as seen through the
eyes of astronauts. Created by award winning director and classically
trained violinist Kenji Williams, and collaborating with NASA, BELLA
GAIA features a 60-minute live performance by Kenji against a
large-screen backdrop of orbiting visualizations of Earth from space.

OakTown Hall is about filling a need in West Oakland...to provide a place and an organization which will provide opportunities to localize the emerging power of our visionary community from the ground up. There is a world of possibilities here at American Steel Studios and this warehouse district that is capable of building and creating new businesses, projects roles and opportunities. OakTown Hall will be the place where you can come to seek the support and the infrastructure necessary to coordinate these opportunities, through cooperation and localized participation.

To achieve this, we need your support. The goal is to raise the funding to finalize our basic infrastructure and build the organization that will help to facilitate the goals and needs of our community. We will host events and build programs that seek to bring opportunities for experience in the arts and self-reliant innovation, education, mentorship and participation in coordination with Burners Without Borders and other local leaders and organizations. We see a great deal of need around us and an even stronger desire to share and to give. OakTown Hall will be the crossroads for all of these talents and energies to intersect and shape new opportunities in West Oakland, the Bay Area and beyond.

Please come out and support!!

             |
Give a little and it'll help a lot. This brother needs our help.
As is the case with most artists (and humans in the US, for that matter), he has no medical insurance.
              http://www.indiegogo.com/Cheb-I-Sabbah-Cancer-Treatment-Fund

"Cheb I Sabbah needs our help! He is facing stage 4 cancer, and needs immediate medical treatment, but like many of us, has no medical insurance. If you can donate even $5, 10, 20 dollars...it WILL make a difference!"
Please, spread this far and wide. This member of our community is counting on us. |
