6. OAKTOWN HALL - Ongoing
|
OakTown Hall is located in West Oakland in a six-acre industrial arts warehouse called American Steel.
The creators of the Dustfish Bordello at Anarchitectural and the creator of The Front Porch are teaming up to build an exciting new venture to establish OakTown Hall as a community project development center which focuses on developing and creating projects that localize our industrial arts energy into the West Oakland community.
Check out and help fund our Indie-Go-Go Project,
Help us raise funds for the Town Park Sk8 Gallery next door to our industrial art warehouse in West Oakland at American Steel. Many of the ramps need resurfacing and recently they lost all of their steel plate entries to the ramps. Town Park is the most used recreational facility for young people in our West Oakland neighborhood.
At OakTown Hall, we are asking what can happen when we develop Burning Man style art projects and experiences right here where these opportunities are needed! We are reaching out to our community for support as we develop the funding and resources to tackle these exciting projects in our local community and extend what is happening beyond the playa into the lives of our neighbors!
